One of my favorite things to do is to stare into the night sky. If I were asked to explain it in one phrase I would choose, “Limitless beauty.” I cannot help but feel like a child when I sit in wonder. I often recall the words of David:
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard.” Psalm 19:1-3
Just think, how amazing must God be to have made the heavens with a word? How incredible is it that He created us in such a way that we can understand that there is a God and that He was the one that made the heavens? Just the fact that it is there for us to see speaks volumes. Everything dances together effortlessly across the universe, yet it seems to stand still in this moment. The knowledge of God is revealed in the infinitely beautiful cosmic dance. It is far beyond what our minds can fathom, yet it can be understood that He made it.
The next time you are standing under the night sky, stop and take a look. Raise your eyes up to the heavens and speak to God. “Almighty Creator, You created all of this.” Let your soul ascend to heavenly heights as you resonate with the truth of God’s word until it overflows with the joy of simply admiring Him in all of His glory.
