I can remember a handful of people in my life that, even though I met them but once, made a lasting impression on me by speaking a few kind words. I have always held them in the highest regard. Have you experienced that before? Maybe someone said just the right thing at the right moment and it burned itself into your mind permanently as a wonderful experience.
I imagine the apostle Paul as being a man of that caliber. Having read his letters to the early churches and the stories of his ministry I can be certain that he was. He was the kind of man who practiced what he preached. Paul was a godly man and people recognized that.
Look how he addressed himself, “Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God” (Eph 1:1). He was confident in his identity in Christ. He was not afraid to let people know that he was a Christian.
“Let a man regard us in this manner, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God” (1 Corinthians 4:1).
How do you regard yourself in your Christian walk? When people look you in the eye, are you able to confidently say to them this same thing? Do you wear His name boldly and glorify Him as Lord? Do you believe that the word of the cross is foolishness or do you believe that it is the power and wisdom of God?
Be like Paul. Be bold for Christ and preach Him like the souls of others depend on it. People that knew Paul was a godly man. Be sure the same can be said about you.
In His service,
Adam L. Huerta
